Gallery: Mustang GT History Display
Photos from the GT history display at the Milwaukee Auto Show happening right now in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
The show ends March 4th.
There were a vast variety of OEM and aftermarket hood ornaments and mascots produced during the golden age of automobiles and it can be tough to identify some ornaments. While it's unlikely anybody would mistake Chief Pontiac for Hernando de Soto, it can be tricky to sort out the umpteen streamlined airplanes. If you have not visited this hood ornament reference site you are in for a treat. The site catalogs dozens of hood ornaments and mascots manufactured between 1933 and 1966 for Buick, Cadillac, Chevy, Chrysler, Dodge, De Soto, Ford, Hudson-Terraplane, Kaiser, Lincoln, Mercury, Nash, Oldsmobile, Packard, Plymouth, Pontiac, Studebaker, and others. Even if you don't have a mystery piece of pot metal that needs an ID the photos alone are worth thumbing through.
